Pakistan Post UMS COD: Cash on Delivery Postal Guide
Pakistan Post offers Urgent Mail Service Cash on Delivery (UMS COD) for sellers and individuals within Pakistan. This guide explains how it works, the limits, how sellers are paid and how to track a COD item.
How Does UMS Cash on Delivery Work?
UMS COD combines fast UMS delivery with cash collection. When you book an item as UMS COD at the post office, Pakistan Post collects the amount you set from the receiver when it delivers the item. Each UMS COD item can be worth up to Rs. 100,000, and cash collection at the door is allowed up to Rs. 50,000.
You hand in the parcel at the post office, say how much to collect and fill in the booking form.

What You Need at the GPO Counter
To book UMS COD, you will usually need the following. Ask at the counter for the exact rules:
- Where to book: Book at a computerised General Post Office (GPO) or another post office that offers UMS COD.
- Amount to collect: Write the amount to collect clearly on the parcel and on the booking form.
- Addresses: Give full addresses, phone numbers and postcodes for both sender and receiver.
- Fees: Pay the postage and any COD fee when you book. Ask the counter for the current amounts.

How You Are Paid
Once the item is delivered and the cash is collected, the money is sent back to you. Ask whether it is paid at the post office where you booked or sent to your address.

When you collect a payment at the post office, take your original booking slip and your original CNIC.
If Payment Is Late
Track the parcel on the Track & Trace website until it shows Delivered. If you have not been paid a reasonable time after delivery, take your booking receipt to the post office where you booked and ask them to check.

If the receiver refuses the parcel or does not have the cash, it may be held for a time and then sent back to the sender (Return to Sender, RTS). Ask the post office how long it is kept.
