Pakistan Post General Post Offices (GPOs) open six days a week, Monday to Saturday, from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Counters close for Friday prayers from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM. Some major city GPOs also have evening or 24-hour night post office counters.

A General Post Office is the main post office in its area. GPOs usually have several counters for booking mail and parcels and other services.

Karachi GPO

Normal GPO hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Ask whether it has a night post office counter.

Lahore GPO

Normal GPO hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Ask whether it has late counters.

Islamabad GPO

Normal GPO hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Ask about UMS booking times.

Rawalpindi GPO

Normal GPO hours are 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday to Saturday. Call the helpline to check its details.

Friday Prayer Break and Weekend Hours

On Friday, GPO counters close for prayers from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM.

If you want to book a parcel on Friday, go before 1:00 PM or after 2:00 PM. Saturday is a normal working day for counters, and postmen deliver on Saturdays too.

Night Post Offices and Late Counters

Some GPOs in major cities have evening or 24-hour night post office counters for urgent mail.
